Attach the hooks

Set the panel
With a minimum two-person crew, rest the panel on the installed hooks. More on holding a panel while you fasten it, and on keeping the sheet from sliding.
Adjust with ease
Use the EZhandle as directed to adjust the panel to the required reveal.
Fasten it in
The hooks hold the panel steady so the crew's hands are free to position and fasten to the siding manufacturer's schedule.
Release the hooks
Tap up on the exposed bottom of each hook and it releases from the nail. Move it to the next course.
Recess & repeat
Recess the nail per the manufacturer's requirements, then reset the support line for the next course. This is what replaces the unscrew, patch, rebuild routine of a scrap ledger.
One piece of steel. Four features that do the work.
There are no moving parts, no springs and nothing to adjust. The only dimensions published below are the ones stated on the manufacturer's drawing. Where a feature is described without a figure, it is because the drawing does not give one and we are not going to estimate it for you.

The rounded top end
A plain semicircular end with one clean round hole through it. The nail does not go here, it goes through the slot below.

The angled nail slot
A narrow slot cut into the edge of the strap, angled and open at its lower end. One 8d sinker nail passes through it into the wall. The hook then hangs with the nail bearing against the closed upper end of the slot.

The blade
Cold rolled steel at a constant width top to bottom, roughly ten inches of it, powder coated bright red so a dropped hook is easy to find and an unset hook is easy to spot from the ground.

The J foot
The strap bends outward to form a small ledge, then the tip turns back up into a shallow cradle. The panel's bottom edge sits down inside that cradle rather than balancing on a flat lip.

Why it releases
The open mouth of the slot is its lower end. Tap up on the exposed bottom of the hook and the nail travels down the slot and out through the mouth, which is how the hook comes off without backing a fastener out of the finished face. The nail itself stays in the wall, behind the installed panel, and is recessed per the manufacturer's requirements.

What we do not publish, and why
- The slot width. It is not stated on the drawing. A figure exists in our own notes, taken off a photograph of the part, and a measurement off a photo is not a specification.
- An exact assembled height. An earlier hand drawing gives ten inches. The current fabrication drawing supersedes it and the two disagree elsewhere, so we describe the blade as roughly ten inches and leave it at that.
- The two secondary hole diameters. The drawing lists them but does not say which one lands in the upturned lip of the foot. Publishing the wrong one would be worse than publishing neither.
- How many hooks a given sheet needs. That depends on the current EZpanl instructions and on your panel manufacturer's requirements, not on us.
- A packaged kit weight taken off a scale. The kit ships at a calculated 9.0 lb, derived from the steel above plus the EZhandle and packaging. It has not been weighed. When it is, we will publish the measured figure and say if it differs.
Figures are from the manufacturer's fabrication drawing for the part. Steel density taken as 0.284 lb per cubic inch. Confirm anything you intend to rely on against EZpanl's current published documentation, which governs.
A support aid, not a shortcut on safety.
The two-person rule
EZpanl's published guidance calls for a minimum two-person crew at all times and states the system is not a replacement for a second worker. It is an installation aid that increases precision and control. It does not change what a safe crew or a compliant siding assembly requires.
Follow the manufacturer
The tool mounts independently of Z-flashing, but it does not replace flashing, the water-resistive barrier, fastener schedules, or clearance requirements. Always follow your siding manufacturer's installation instructions and the current EZpanl guidance. See clearance and gap basics for what each requirement protects against.
